ALOHA Helps Your Kids Exercise Their Brains - ALOHA Mind Math

ALOHA Helps Your Kids Exercise Their Brains Health and fitness are areas that we have started getting more serious about, not just for us but for our children too. The term “fitness” must ideally be a combination of physical and mental health. As parents, we try to incorporate physical activities and de-stressors such as yoga in our children’s schedules. What are the ways in which you could stimulate their minds equally as well? A conventional classroom might utilize the left side of the brain that contains the centers for speech, writing and analytical thinking. The right side is also known as the creative side and contains the areas dealing with analysis by touch, creativity and spatial visualization. This is the part that is often not “exercised” enough by many of us, which is the case with our kids too. Activities like Dance and Theatre could be ways of stimulating the right side of the brain, and these go along in addition to other conventional teaching methods quite well. Rather than pursuing different activities, there is a single method by which you could stimulate both the sides of the brain. Learning Math using the Abacus is a great way to stimulate complete brain activity and development as it combines spatial recognition with analytical learning. At ALOHA, our youngest entrants learn Math concepts using a physical abacus and other activity-based materials. This helps form a strong foundation in the subject and improves their concentration. At the Junior level, we also ensure that learning remains a fun-filled activity to make your children want to keep coming back to class. As they grow older and more proficient, the children progress to solving complex Math problems using visualization of the Abacus rather than the physical tool itself. The use of mental theory helps them move from addition and subtraction to complex multiplication problems over the course of the program. The stimulation provided by our methods of teaching also leads to an improvement in attention span and mental focus, due to the activity in both parts of the brain. This means that you would be able to see the results of the ALOHA program not just in Math, but also in the child’s overall performance at school. About ALOHA Mind Math ALOHA Mind Math has been guiding children between the ages of five through 12 years to achieve academic excellence since 2007. Does private tuition really boost exam grades

Does private tuition really boost exam grades We're delighted to say, that of the families we surveyed after this year's GCSE and A-Level results, 80% said that they believe private tuition definitely helped them improve their grades. And to back it up, we asked the families we surveyed to outline their estimated grades and actual grades to see whether their grades had gone up. To our joy (and a little relief!) the results did indeed move in the right direction, i.e. our clients got better grades than estimated. In fact on average, families reported a jump of one whole grade as a result of private tuition, with very strong results for those starting tuition 3-6 months ahead, when compared to only 3 months ahead. Not only that, but to add to our delight, families said lovely things about ##site_name##. Namely, 95% said they would recommend us as a way of finding a tutor. Thank you! You've made our academic year! To the best of our knowledge, no one either in the industry or academia has conducted this kind of follow up research before, so for details of the survey, please visit our news area here. We would very much like to thank the families who partook in the survey, without whom obviously we would have nothing to report. If you would like to help with such research, please make sure you have ticked the 'Yes' button in your marketing preferences indicating you are happy to receive such emails from us. And to those just starting the new academic year, good luck!

7 Career Developing Tricks That Miraculously Work in Your Favor - Introvert Whisperer

Introvert Whisperer / 7 Career Developing Tricks That Miraculously Work in Your Favor - Introvert Whisperer 7 Career Developing Tricks That Miraculously Work in Your Favor There is a huge difference between having a job and building a career. What most people do not understand is that career development is a continuous process and having a job is just the beginning of it. Your journey towards building a successful career actually kicks off way earlier than getting your first job. Your academic qualification and the skills you acquire through learning actually play a major role in shaping your career. But will that be enough? Apparently, no. You must have heard people saying “look at the bigger picture”. Generally, when they say it, they are actually implying to what happens in the longer run. You may find job hopping rewarding at the beginning, as the latest job offers you a better salary package and other employee benefits than the previous ones. However, when you look at the bigger picture, it actually brings down your credibility as a professional. Ideally, your goal should be to developing a career that helps you serve the big picture. What are the biggest challenges you may face in your professional career? Before you consider taking your career to the next level, you need to acknowledge the challenges that are the part and parcel of the having a professional career. At times, identifying these challenges may help you steer your career in the right direction. The transitioning: It often seems difficult for individuals to translate earlier work experience and skills into new employment opportunities. While it may appear necessary to change the job or even the industry under certain circumstances, candidates often find themselves in a critical situation as their last experience does not exactly match the requirements of the new job opportunities. Finding the purpose: Finding a job may not be the easiest thing for the individuals who are just starting out. However, finding a purpose in the job you are doing may be even more challenging than landing the job. Since there are not enough jobs in today’s market, most people need to start with an entry-level job that fails to fuel their passion. Not feeling a sense of purpose in the job can be daunting. Pursuing the wrong: Having an alternate career option may sound like a wise idea to pursue, but when there are way too many career choices in front of you, things may get a bit complicated. It often takes years for individuals to recognize their passion. And if a person identifies his or her true calling 10 years into the career, it won’t be easy for the individual to pivot the career from that point. Receiving unwanted responsibilities: You may enjoy your work right now, but when you are promoted and given certain responsibilities that you are not passionate about, it can not only affect your performance but also put your career in jeopardy. It is like asking a tutor who offers assignment help to the students, to manage the accounts of an institution. Unless the tutor is interested in crunching numbers, things are likely to go haywire for both the tutor as well as the institute. Staying relevant: The world around us is changing rapidly. To stay relevant in this dynamic world, every individual needs to update their skill and knowledge by getting acquainted with the latest technology and the recent trends. Every year a lot of Gen X and baby boomers are relieved of their responsibilities as the organizations are finding millennials to be more appropriate for their work. How to tackle these challenges and develop a successful career? If you are lucky, you may not have to face any of these challenges in your career. In most cases, some of these challenges seem unavoidable. But if you are prepared for all sorts of challenges and plan your career from the very beginning, you may just find the key to a successful career. Here are some career tricks that can put the odds in your favor. 1. Identify your personal goals: It is difficult to succeed in life if your personal goals do not align with your career goals. So, before you consider following a career path, identify the goals you have for yourself. You may want to get married and start a family by the age of 30, or perhaps travel the world at your own expenses. Whatever the goals are, acknowledging them may allow you to structure your career around it. Ideally, you should choose a career path that helps you achieve your personal goals. However, most people start their career without considering their personal goals. A few years down the line, they start to find themselves in a position where they can neither enjoy their professional life nor the personal life. So, if you want to have a fulfilling career, you should consider getting your goals sorted. 2. Improve your resume: If you are starting out your professional career, or want to pivot your career by pursuing a better opportunity, you should focus on improving your resume. Resumes allow you to highlight the areas where you excel while giving the reader a hint about your experience, knowledge and expertise. Since you are judged by the employers on the basis of your resume, you may need to prepare it in such a way that it looks impressive. There are a number of writing services like Myassignmenthelp and Myessayhelp which can help you prepare an impressive resume based on your credentials. However, that is just one way to improve your resume. Whether you realize it or not, if you don’t upgrade your skill set, presenting well-written documents won’t get you anywhere. So, while having a well-crafted resume may be important for taking your career to the next level, it is also important to acquire new skills so that your resume sounds interesting to the employers. 3. Acknowledge your strengths and weaknesses: You may be good at what you do. But is that the best you can do with your skill set? Perhaps not. There is always room for improvement. However, you may find it hard to improve yourself if you are unaware of your personal strengths and weaknesses. If you want to move closer to success, it is essential to acknowledge your strengths and limitations, which may help you to adapt to challenging conditions, whether its your professional life or personal. As you start to identify your strengths, you will be able to reap benefits by leveraging those traits in the professional field. Also, when you acknowledge your limitations, you can work on them and use it to your advantage. If you are able to identify your strengths and weaknesses early in life, it may help you choose a career path that allows you to utilize your strengths in the best way possible. 4. Start taking responsibilities in life: If you are intimidated by responsibilities and never really initiate anything from your end, you may have a find it difficult to succeed in life. The world is already filled with mediocre people who are very comfortable at serving under their managers. Well, there’s nothing wrong in following the instructions of your reporting manager, but if you wish to build a successful career, you need to start taking responsibilities. A successful person leads from the front, and so should you. Take initiatives, and make things work. Some of your decisions may work, some may not, but it is important to take full responsibility for your actions and thoughts. When you start taking responsibilities, you not only mature as a person but it also reflects on your performance which may provide you with the opportunity to take your career to the next level. 5. Create a strong network: Having connections in high places can be quite rewarding when it comes to the professional field. You are going to meet a lot of people in your career who may or may not be an influential person in the industry. Your objective should be to get acquainted with people and broaden your network. You may not require their assistance right away, but you may need their assistance in the future to boost your career. There are a number of ways to build a strong network of people. Social gatherings, seminars, and business summits are the best places to get acquainted with people. However, you can also use a social media platform like Facebook and Twitter to get introduced to new people. LinkedIn is quite useful in this context when you want to keep things professional. 6. Create your own identity: A successful career requires more than just a resume and several connections at high places. You need to make your own identity in the industry if you want to see yourself at an enviable position someday. As you may have noticed, companies spend millions of dollars in building their brand identity in the market. Even if you are working under a company, you can work towards creating your own mark in the industry. If you are ambitious about starting your own venture someday, it may be a good move for you to build your unique identity in the industry. You can invest in content marketing, which is quite effective in making people aware of your brand. Social media marketing is also effective as it allows you to interact with the audience. If you are already investing your time and energy in branding yourself, you may find it easier to run your company someday. 7. Seek guidance from the stalwarts: Another reason why networking is crucial for your career is that it allows you to get acquainted with the industry stalwarts who have been in the industry for long and know how things work around here. If you are at the early stage of your career, their advice and guidance can allow you to navigate your career in the right direction. You dont always need to look up to a high profile individual for career advice. If you have a great mentor, he or she can help you achieve your goals with proper guidance and support. In fact, you can seek guidance from any trustworthy person who has spent significant years in the serving the industry. As you may realize, career development is a continuous process. And if you want things to work in your favor, it is better to start planning early. People, who are clear about their career goals from the beginning, usually have better chances of succeeding. 7 Easy Jazz Guitar Songs for Beginners

7 Easy Jazz Guitar Songs for Beginners Megan L. Looking for some easy jazz guitar songs to get you started?  Jazz music can sound very complicated, at first. It requires a combination of skills like speed, precision, and endurance. There are many great jazz guitarists that can attest to that. While advanced jazz can take quite a while to work up to, beginner jazz guitar songs arent difficult or time-consuming to learn. In this article, well provide videos and tabs for seven jazz songs that any beginner can start learning today. Lets jump right into it! 7 Easy Jazz Guitar Songs for Beginners Summertime Summertime is a catchy jazz standard composed by George Gershwin. It was originally written for the opera Porgy and Bess. Sublime’s Summertime is based on this piece. This eerie melody will stick in your head all day! Below is a simplified tutorial. I think this person does a good job breaking it down (even better than reading tabs): Jazz musicians like to embellish simple melodies. Here is a more advanced version of Summertime: Autumn Leaves Autumn Leaves is medium tempo jazz piece by Joseph Kosma. Here is a nice recording by Eric Clapton. Listen to the song, and then learn the chord progression. Be sure to look up any chords youre unfamiliar with. Strum along with the recording and pay attention to the tempo! It’s not very fast. Take a look at the chords here. Fly Me To The Moon Fly Me To The Moon is a jazz standard made famous by Frank Sinatra. The steady quarter note pulse is a great way to practice changing 7th chords, a staple of jazz music. This is one of our favorite easy jazz guitar songs. Watch this video of the Jason Mraz version to find out why! You can find the the accompanying chords here. Blue Monk Blue Monk is a B flat blues piece written by Thelonious Monk. Try learning both parts and playing it with a friend! Look  here for the chords and tabs. Here is an advanced version of the piece: Next, check out this simplified version: Blue Bossa Blue Bossa is a bossa-nova piece with an infectious groove. (Bossa-nova is Latin-influenced jazz). Here are the chords and tabs to the song.  Watch the video below  and familiarize yourself with the melody. Notice the choppy way the chords are being played: So What This is a famous piece by Miles Davis. So What is a piece of modal jazz, which is built on modes rather than major and minor scales. If you’re not sure what a mode is, ask your guitar teacher for a lesson on them! Check out the tabs for this song. This video is a great example of the main theme on guitar: I also recommend you watch this video of Miles Davis and John Coltrane ripping the piece apart in 1959: Nuages Nuages is a piece of gypsy jazz by Django Reinhardt. Django played at incredible speeds with only two fingers! He lost his other two in a fire. Django’s solos and improvisation move at intimidating speeds, but the main melody of Nuages is easy to understand. Here is a version of the piece for solo guitar. Nuages is based on a classical piece by the same name, composed by Claude Debussy. Look up that piece and see if you can hear the similarities. Here is a recording of Django: If its too difficult to play the chords and melody at the same time, just play the melody. You can do this by only playing the highest note in each chord cluster. Here is a close up version with a simplified melody: As you begin to learn beginner jazz guitar, don’t worry about the improvisations and embellishments (the fast, fancy stuff). Start by making sure you understand every chord in the song, then move on to the melody. Try learning one of these songs with a friend so you can both practice trading lead and rhythm. Bonus! Want to hear some advanced jazz? Check out this video by Snarky Puppy! There’s a cool guitar riff at about a minute in: Once you learn some of these easy jazz guitar songs, youll be ready for more advanced playing. Even better, youll be better equipped to write your own jazz song.  Have fun with your playing and make sure to  practice every single day! Post Author:  Dylan P. Mitosis Diagram Online Biology Tutors Tutorpace

Mitosis Diagram Online Biology Tutors Tutorpace Mitosis is a type of cell division in which the newly formed daughter cells are having the same chromosome number as that of their parent cell. There are two stages: Karyokinesis: division of the nucleus Cytokinesis: division of the cytoplasm. Mitosis includes prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase and cytokinesis. PROPHASE:At the beginning of mitosis or early prophase the tangled mass of chromatin fibers become condensed to form short rod like structures called the chromosomes.During late prophase each chromosome splits longitudinally except at centromere in to two halves called chromatids. The chromosome becomes more thick and short. METAPHASE: the chromosomes attain their maximum condensation;the spindle fibers extend to the equator of these cells and organize into the spindle apparatus. The chromosomes now move towards the center of the cell and get themselves arranged at the equator of the spindle apparatus by means of their centromere region. ANAPHASE: the centromere of each chromosomes divide longitudinally, it results in the completion of the division of the chromosome in to two distinct and separate identical chromatids. The spindle fibers that are attached to the centromere of the chromosome now contract and the sister chromatids move to the opposite TELOPHASE:The two sets of chromosomes that reach the opposite poles arranged in to two groups. They are now organized in to two daughter nuclei by the reappearance of the nuclear envelope; chromosomes uncoil in to chromatin fibers. Nuclear membrane and nucleolus reappears. The spindle fibers disappear. CYTOKINESIS:The division of cytoplasm takes place resulting in the formation of two daughter cells.

Should Parents Observe During Voice Lessons

Should Parents Observe During Voice Lessons Suzy S. Should you sit in on your kids singing lessons? Here,  Hayward, CA teacher  Molly R.  tackles the commonly asked question When parents sign their child up for voice lessons, naturally they want to be sure of a few key things: Does the teacher know what he or she is doing? Is the teacher a good match for my child? Is my child making progress? One of the easiest ways to be sure of all this is to observe a lesson and see for yourself, of course. However, this may not always be the best route for a few reasons although some situations are certainly different. The following is what I have found works best for me in my voice studio. At the First Lesson I always welcome parents to sit in on their childs first singing lesson! This way they know what I am about and what they are paying for. It’s tough to start singing for someone that you have never met, and having Mom or Dad there can be a bonus. For some kids, singing comes naturally at lesson number one, though, and they may prefer their parent NOT be there! I let the parent and child decide among themselves in this instance. After the First Lesson Going forward, I prefer students attend lessons on their own. The reason why many voice teachers prefer to work one on one with students is because it’s likely the young student will not open up to the teacher with two adults in the room. That can be stressful and take the fun out of singing! Not only that, some parents have the tendency to play armchair critic when it is solely the teacher’s job to offer vocal advice during lesson time. It is crucial that parents be respectful of the teacher and do not overstep their boundaries. Naturally there are unique situations to consider. For example, I work with some very young (six and under) students, and having a parent in the room is very helpful to get them to focus and also to encourage them. There may also be times when a young student has physical or mental limitations, and having a parent there is necessary. My Studio Policies I’ve found that it’s good to retain some flexibility, but to remain firm about general studio policies, and this certainly includes who can attend voice lessons. As long as you remain open and consistent with communication, I have found that parents are fine with my arrangement. They can measure their kids singing progress in other ways (practice time, performances, etc.). To find the best teacher for your child, you may need to sit in on a few voice lessons… and ask a lot of questions! You will find that the time spent doing this is well worth it once your child gains skills and confidence as a singer. Molly R. teaches online and in-person singing lessons in Hayward, CA. Her specialties include teaching beginner vocalists, shy singers, children, teens, lapsed singers, and older beginners. She joined TakeLessons in November 2013. Learn more about Molly  here!
